For pupils under 18:
- A parent or responsible adult must be present within the home during the lesson.

Where technical problems significantly prevent a lesson from taking place, reasonable efforts will be made to find an alternative arrangement where appropriate.

For pupils under 18, a parent or responsible adult must be present within the home for the duration of the lesson.
Lessons should take place in an appropriate communal learning space, such as a living room, dining room or study, rather than a pupil's bedroom.

4.8 Missed lessons may remain chargeable in accordance with Section 5.
5. Attendance, Cancellation and Notice
5.1 Ending Ongoing Tuition
For ongoing tuition, notice to discontinue lessons must normally be provided at least one calendar month before the end of the term in which lessons are due to stop, unless different notice arrangements are stated in the Terms and Conditions applying to the particular service.
Notice must be provided in writing by email to:
This allows sufficient time to manage payment arrangements and, where applicable, offer the teaching place to another pupil.
5.2 Late Notice
Where the required notice period is not provided, fees falling within the applicable notice period may remain payable.
Where a replacement pupil is found earlier, Teresa @ TJM Teaches may, at her discretion, reduce or waive outstanding future tuition charges.
5.3 Summer Term
Where tuition is due to finish at the end of the Summer Term, notice should be provided before the summer break so that teaching places can be organised for the following academic year.
5.4 Individual Missed Lessons
If a pupil is unable to attend a scheduled lesson, the lesson may remain chargeable.
Where sufficient notice has been given, Teresa @ TJM Teaches will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative lesson where availability permits, but rescheduling cannot be guaranteed.

Where a scheduled lesson is cancelled by Teresa @ TJM Teaches, the missed lesson will be rescheduled or otherwise made up.
This may include:
- Rescheduling the lesson
- Delivering the lesson online
- Carrying the lesson forward

5.6 Yearly Plans
Where a yearly tuition plan has been purchased and the pupil subsequently wishes to discontinue ongoing tuition:

- Where a refund is appropriate, it will normally relate only to full unused periods of tuition.
- A term or tuition period that has already commenced will not normally be treated as wholly unused.
- Any refund arrangement will take account of the Terms and Conditions displayed or agreed when the yearly plan was purchased.
5.7 Payment Plan Cancellation
Cancelling or stopping a recurring payment through a bank, card provider or payment processor does not itself constitute notice to discontinue tuition.
Written notice must still be provided in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
6. Paired and Small-Group Tuition
6.1 Paired and small-group tuition may be offered where appropriate.
6.2 Unless otherwise stated at the point of booking, the tuition fee per pupil is based on the applicable individual lesson fee, with the duration of the session determined by the number of pupils enrolled:
- One pupil – 30 minutes
- Two pupils – 45 minutes
- Three pupils – 60 minutes
6.3 The scheduled duration of the lesson is normally determined by the number of pupils enrolled in the group rather than the number who attend a particular session.
6.4 If one pupil is absent, the lesson will normally continue for the remaining pupil or pupils for the scheduled duration.
6.5 Missed paired or group lessons will not normally be provided as individual catch-up lessons.
6.6 Where a paired or group lesson is cancelled by Teresa @ TJM Teaches, the missed lesson will be rescheduled or otherwise made up.
6.7 If the permanent number of pupils enrolled in a pair or group changes, the duration and scheduling of future lessons may be adjusted accordingly.
